October is Here...And With It Comes Some Fall Fun!

Oh, how I love this time of year! The air is getting cooler, the leaves are changing color, and the holidays are just upon us. When Fall hits...I am definitely in the mood to decorate our home a bit and plan some fun family activities that create wonderful moments to last a lifetime! The fair is here, and I remember growing up when my parents took us we always wanted a corndog, and a candy apple before we left. We couldnt leave until we went over to see the cows and pigs. Pumpkin patches are a wonderful thing to do for fun with your family. We love taking our daughter even though shes already 12, and take pictures and pick out the biggest and the fatest pumpkin we could find to carve when we got home. We always tried to get at least two good ones one for the porch outside, and one that we sit near the fireplace.

Brrrrr!! boy is it cold outside I cant believe they said there is possible snow flurries today. Its been raining for three days a very cold rain, and windy. Its the second day of December today this time of year seems to fly by so fast not much time to shop for Christmas. Im starting my Christmas shopping this week I kinda know what Im getting everyone I just need to finish it. Ive got some gifts to send out to my family so I better hurry and do that I like having it done so I dont have to be in a rush. Does anyone have any stocking stuffer ideas this year? I like being creative so maybe ill look around and find something unique. I remember when growing up that our parents put walnuts,oranges,apples,old fashion'd candy, and a candy cane in our stockings it wasnt much but we thought it was the best thing, and we so appreciated it. Those days bring back great memories. What are your great memories?

With Thanksgiving just a few days ahead we are making our grocery list and preparing our upcoming feast. Every year is different then the last as to what Im gonna make, but I always know that with tradition I have the same things on the table. Turkey, Ham, Mash potatoes, Gravy, green beans, sweet potatoe casserole, some type of salad, rolls, and the best for last dessert. I also have a few appetizers this year Im not sure what we will have I need to look up some recipes.

Sometimes its the little things that need to get done so today Im gonna tackle the Fish tank. Cleaning the fish tank and making sure the momma guppy is finished having her babies and moving her back to her gang. I think I might search around for some new casserole dishes to make and fix one for dinner tonight. Its raining again..... so a good day to do some recipes. We havent seen the sun in over a week now its getting to be a drag. My daughter now needs to make up three soccer games so sad....
